The manager at the Dabney Drive location in Henderson NC Cathy is very rude. She has a nonchalant attitude and needs to learn communication skills.
I always thought Variety wholesalers was a awesome company. I can’t believe how they treat the best employees that make them money. Then they bring in workers that treat customers horrible. I will never shop at the Pembroke maxway store again. Since the store manager I shopped with for years was fired (not quit) as the new and very rude new manager says, i will never return or spend my money there. The previous manager was awesome, curious, and was always there everytime i went there Day or Night. I went there 2 weeks ago and there was a sign stating the store closes at 6 and they need help. I have no idea what happened but I know that store was my number 1. I preferred Maxes before Walmart. That makes no sense.
My 16 year old daughter was employed by our local Roses store and was SEXUALLY harassed by another employee she told her manager who said”yes he is creepy but he can lift heavy things so we keep him” after my daughter quit she NEVER received her pay check and have been fighting with Roses 7 months later with no return phone calls and NO pay check!

Bought 2 wardrobes from them with the price being 89.00. Got to the register and they said no they are marked wrong and want to charge 140.00
I bought a speaker fire place tv stand on 03/19/2021 and it stop working 08/17/2021 I called the store to speak to a manager and told them what was going on and supposedly the manager said bring it in I have my receipt they will sell it as is
I have a problem with the new management she is hiring people from where she used to work and giving them more hours and cutting the hours of employees that are already there and she is also trying to promote them also instead of giving anyone else a chance at being promoted. and when you talk to her about this she just ignores you, I don’t find that fair. I know that some of the employees are quiting for that reason.

Today I purchased two 24”bar stools at my local Maxway store. I needed a couple of spare seats for the our holiday gathering tomorrow.
One of the units did not have all of the hardware. The hardware package was completely sealed so it was not lost in store. The wood glue included was totally dried up.
There was no customer service contact info on the box or instruction sheet.
The boxes in the store had varying prices on them. It appears that the boxes/units came to the store with a price on them and it was obviously changed On some of the boxes in the store. This was not only Confusing but cast suspicion on whether I was getting the correct price for my purchase.
I could not locate any customer support info on the box.
I needed the stools so my husband
Found screws and hardware to assemble the units.
The pricing of the units was comparable to Target or Walmart@
24.99 each.
I am very disappointed in the quality of my purchase and customer support.
