I wrote a review (Positive…of course), but your ANNOYING procedure for selecting and adding photos of my (2) cars, did NOT WORK! Too Complicated…Have you NO IDEA about “human factors?” Now…How and where do I hit “SEND” for this message?
Not adding photos or videos…Where is SEND! OH, my Positive Post was for Meineke of Milford, DE. What ever you are paying Anthony Lewis is NOT ENOUGH!!! Ed Trottier, N. Dover, DE

Do not go to Meineke Car Care #2285 in Bessemer, AL.
I asked the manager if the store was a menu of the Better Business Bureau. After a moment of hesitation and a side glance he said yes. There was no signs or placards indicating this location as a member. Why? Because they are NOT members of the BBB.
I should have checked out this Meineke #2285 location before taking our vehicle in for repairs.

Don’t go to the Meineke #2285 in Bessemer, AL. The Mgr has defensive customer service skills. To me that means deceit and ripoffs.
He said he paid for a part that was replaced to save us money. The part was a recall part that is a no charge to the customer and he will get paid the core charge when returned to the manufacturer. He would not list the part on the invoice as replacement for recall at no charge. Why wouldn’t he? Deceit.
Told us the vehicle HAD to be picked up same day he called to inform the repair(s) are completed and could not close out his days work. Said that IS company policy. So, I told him he should consider informing customers when he’s making his sales talk. I have worked with auto service and know of other like services and NONE have ever had such a policy.
There’s more about the experience at this store that causes me to not return or refer to others. Maybe the next manager will be an improvement.

My front brakes were squeaky,so I made an appointment at the Meinke on Old Collinsville Road in Belleville IL. When I arrived the guy said that he could not do them today because they are booked,so he called the Fairview Heights location and they were able to do it. I had brand new brakes put on two weeks before, the guy who put them on did not apply the greases on them so they began to squeak.
He drove my vehicle to the back to do the inspection after that,he comes back and say that my brakes burned out really bad and they were smoking so you are going to need new rotors and new brakes.Im not a expert so I took his word for it not thinking that he would be dishonest. He took my money 620.17 doing the estimated process I showed him a coupon that he never applied.

After everything was competed I asked for the car parts that were removed , he refused to hand them over.
He said that they were burned so badly that they threw them away.
I replied and said I prefer to have them. He went to the back and grab some items that were not my items.I told him to give me everything that you all removed from my car, after several trys he released them. I looked at my car parts and realized that i had been deceived. He basically rob me and I am very upset about this I would like to speak to someone regarding this.

21 months and car not fixed. 5 year warranty on engine from Meineke… they will not fix/or get it fixed. Store owned by Johnathon Taylor group. I have had to deal with 8-12 ‘store’ managers and at least 4 different regional or group managers. No continuity of care/service. Either can’t identify or retain competent workforce.

On 9/11/2023 @ 3:45 PM I dropped off my Hinda Pilot to have them do an inspection on my passenger side window. It was stuck in the down position. I talked to the manager ( He was on a conference call at the time) since he was the only one there. I told him the situation he said no problem. I had called earlier and talked to a woman who stated it was $140 to do the inspection. She said to bring it in before 4 p.m. and we will store it inside since crime is an issue in Hemet CA.  When I got there the Manager said it was $150. Not sure why but I needed it looked at. He also stated he would put the $150 toward the repair if I elected to go that route. Then he stated since it’s a simple check if I don’t get it repaired he would give me 50% back on the $150. I said that’s a good deal and handed him my keys. Since they were closed at that point around 4:05 PM. The next morning around 9:45am they called with an estimate of around $650 for parts & 1.5 hours of labor. I told them well that is $120 more than the Honda Dealership. He said well can’t help you there you want us to repair it or come pick it up? I said I would be there in about an hour. It was close to 10am at that point. So I arrived at the location around 12:10 to pick up my vehicle and they said I’ll have to wait because they have to put it back together. So after 15 minutes, I see them pulling my car around to the front of the store. I went out to take a look after they handed me my keys. So when I go out I see the window is now 3/4 of the way up and many greasy hand marks. I asked the mechanic how did you get the window up so far. He said ” Looks like the motor is bad,” I said… Ok? figured it would be a waste to ask to many questions. I opened the door and noticed the cover plate located by the door handle was not installed. So I looked around the car to pop it on and couldn’t find it. So I asked the mechanic where is the cover plate for the door handle. He stated ” I never saw one. I don’t think it was in your car” I told him I had it and showed all the screws and the cover plate to the Manager yesterday when I dropped it off. He went to go look for it. He came back out with the Manager after about 5 minutes. Now both of them are telling me it was never here. I never had it and they can’t find anything anywhere. I told them both it was sitting right here ( pointing at the floorboard of the passenger side) sitting in another cover plate for the door. They both said, “Well we never saw one and there is nothing in the shop” I said well I will want that found or replaced. The mechanic asked what cover plate was it in. I said this one (pointing at the plate installed on the door already) so he popped it off and guess what? Yep, the cover plate fell out and onto the ground. Well, they both thought that was hilarious and started laughing. I just stared at them in amazement at how they really couldn’t care less if it was lost and were never going to replace or locate it until it just about fell onto their feet. 32 years working in retail management and I have NEVER seen anyone care less for a customer. Moving on…

I go into to pay for the inspection. $150 – 50% = $75 right? Nope, looks like its a full $150 and then come to find out they were only going to apply 75% of the $150 to the repair costs??? WTF is going on here!!! I paid, signed, and left. ” FYI, The lady working the counter is awesome and has great customer service skills Kudos to her”

So, I got home. Obviously not happy. My window is broken still, I’m out $150, I need to clean grease off my window and…. There is 2 ding marks on the front passenger side fender that are brand new and WERE NOT THERE when I dropped it off on 9/11/2023 @ 3:45 PM. Here’s my Meineke experience at your Hemet CA location:

1. Window still broken

2. Window dirty, greasy.

3. Out $150 for nothing

4. Lied about costs and application of funds toward work to be done.

5. Now have 2 dents in my passenger side fender well.

So, I went to look at it the next day which is 9/13/23. I see that the door lock isn’t working when I lock the car. I took a second and went into the house to order a new motor for the window. It was $68 from CarParts.com. Not $336 like they were going to charge me at Meineke. But I understand marking something up but 600% is a bit high.

After that is done I go out and remove the door pannel. I see that they forgot to connect the power supply up to the locking mechanism. So I connected it and the lock works fine. So I take a closer look to see what’s involved in changing out the motor. Looks to be a little tight but definitely doable for me. I look and reach in for the power supply to the window motor and feel that it’s not connected. I told myself no way.. there’s just no way they would be that dirty as to find it came unplugged ( as I looked into it that seems to be an issue on this model. Becoming unplugged due to bumps vibrating, etc.) So I plugged it in and it works perfectly!! So add that to my list of crap from your company. At least now I know why the mechanic didn’t say anything to me about how he got the window 3/4 of the way up.. Because he plugged it in and then unplugged it when I said I’m not going to have you repair it. WOW, that’s some evil crap Meineke!!!! No wonder you have SO MANY BAD reviews at this location. Time for a little retraining and flushing out the management there.

I find all of this so insane that I have told almost everyone I know about it. I will do everything in my power to help others avoid your company.

I have pictures of the dents, and grease marks on the window if needed.

I look forward to your response,

Chris Franklin

I use to like you guys. I recommend people to you guys the people there was honest and didn’t try to rip customer off. But now those people are gone at the shop on Herlong in Rock Hill Sc. The people that works there now don’t care about people. I took my care there your people care me right to fix my car. 3 weeks later it broke down again with the same proplem. We had car shield they wanted to send the parts there to fix it. You chare me 3 times what the parts would have cost me if I went to the shop and bought it. I wish I was able to fix it myself. I’m disable vet I have a degree in auto mechanics. The same code came back up I check it again it said it’s the fuel injector again on the same piston. What I’m going to do is stop recommending people to you guys. What I see is you guys are a rip off. And you can’t be trusted anymore.

I was stranded in St. Louis with a overheating car. I called and got the main customer service line they told me which location to go to and told me they booked and 8am appointment so with AAA following me I got my car there. Meineke downtown St Louis. I get there and had to pay $20 for parking because of a cardinals game which was ridiculous I wasn’t there for the game. Next morning the location had no idea why my car was there, the guy left no notes. They told me they would get to it right away, and clearly knew what it was. Thermostat on an Audi Q7. 10:30 they call to tell me they’re finally pulling it in to start. 1:30ish pm they call to tell me they don’t work on Audi’s. Granted I am in a city I do not live in so now half my day is gone and I have to figure out what to do. It took them almost 6 hours to tell me they could do nothing and I’m out $20 for parking. This was absurd to me, this resulting in my having to stay another night in st louis and costing me another hotel night. They should’ve told me at 8am that they do not work on Audi even though I confirmed with them they did.

I went to the Lakewood Washington site today for veterans day and I was rudely greeted by Terry the manager, I believe I asked if they were still doing the veterans day oil change. There was no one in the lobby a few cars in the bays. He rudely replied no we are done with that it’s way to much work. I said ok. He didn’t ask if I wanted to schedule an oil change or anything just dismissed me. . I was very taken back considering it was only a little after 1pm they were open until 6. No one was waiting. No offer for me to even schedule for a different time. And plain out rude. I can’t believe this is the service from meineke especially in a military community and especially on veterans day when offering a service to us.

I just got a con job at the Stafford Virginia shop on Garrisonville road. Took my car in for inspection and they fail it for a loose battery and a rattle in the tail pipe. only thing needed on the battery was to tighten the two nuts on the J bolts (was charged 35.00) then they charged me 75.00 to remove a clamp on the exhaust pipe because it would hit the bumper hitch- This is crazy, I will never return to a Meineke shop again. Have gone to this shop before when honest people ran it.

Good afternoon. We had a state inspection done in your Kill Devil Hills, NC location. I told them we also needed a valve censor replaced. They did the state inspection then came out with an estimate to replace what I told them was wrong. The truck was done, I paid $13 and some change for the inspection. I then received a phone call on my cell phone saying they made a mistake and needed to charge me $26.69 for “diagnostic charge”. I was taken back by it, but gave her my credit card number and she charged it. Afterwards, I spoke to my husband who said there was no diagnostic, we told them it needed to be replaced and they didn’t do it. The tech told us two needed to be replaced and it is definitely only one. We have only one censor light that comes on. All the other are fine. I would like $26.69 refunded. This seems like a scam to get money out of people. If not, I will dispute the charge. We told them what was wrong. They didn’t do the work, gave us an estimate and told us if they they did the work, we would get our $26.69 back. Bad business and I won’t go back. Sue Ware

Wolcott Waterbury location is rapidly declining in customer service and culpability with the release of the main mechanic, John. The prices went up drastically, the location charges you labor for each part in a tune up when labor should all inclusive because the tune up is the complete job. A thousand dollars in labor for a tune up, no thanks. And I was told by new management to shop elsewhere, no problem. I will never patronize Meineke or its subsidiaries ever again.

Worst experience ever. Took my wife’s car to your location in Overland Park, KS. Front end noise to assess. Did $2000 in repairs to fix the problem. Took it back a few days later power steering now grinding, an additional $2700 needed to repair. I’ll post everywhere on earth about this practice. Baited and switched me on $5000 in repairs. Couldn’t care less at the store, pathetic service

Re: Meineke store #730 in Gastonia, NC.
I was there back in April with my SUV. I was carrying a leather folder with ALL…I repeat ALL of my car’s previous paperwork plus my title.
After three months of tearing my home apart and going through every file in 2 file cabinets over again, I finally stopped back at the Meineke shop. The nice lady at the desk knew immediately what I was speaking about and still had it for me. I cannot tell you how shocked I was about that. MY TITLE WAS IN THERE!!! This is how badly car problems effect me.
So, can I please ask for a huge favor??? The AC is out at that #730 store…in this horrible heat. Is there any way to help them get that repaired soon?? I was not the only person in the waiting area, but having to work or wait in that heat is not healthy. They had a fan going but 98 degrees is not fan cooling weather even in NC.
Again, you have an AWESOME employee in this lady behind the desk!!! I would have had to get another title for my SUV if she had just tossed my folder.
Most gratefully,
Holly Jacobs

Didn’t they have your phone number? Did you not have any work done on your vehicle and leave all your contact info? They could have called you to tell you they had your paperwork.
Nonetheless, it’s nice they still had it once you contacted them.

When we showed up, we were told that they could not take her car until the next day, or possibly the day after. I told the man that we made an appointment, and he said he doesn’t even see those, he hasn’t used that system in 3 years. I asked if we could just bring it in Saturday (two days from today) and he said he could not even do that.

I went to the highland il location and got a oil change and tire rotation. After 1500 miles I was driving on the interstate and heard a loud thud from my front left tire as I was pulling off I heard another thud from the same tire. Went I got out to check not 1 but 2 tire studs snapped in half half and my tire almost fell off. I called the store and tried to get the 2 studs and lug nuts. The manager said he would call me back and never did. So I had it fixed at a different shop and the total was 521 dollars. I brought the invoice to the highland il location and they had someone call me and he stated several different theories and 1500 miles is a lot and someone could have messed with my tires. He did say he was gonna call me back today and I still don’t have a call back. So I’m hoping this gets right because the number 1 reason on google for a broken tire stud is either under torqued or over torqued tire lug nuts. And it says more than likely happened last time u had the tires rotated or replaced.

I went to your Garner, NC location this morning and I was very shocked at how much your prices had increased and that a tire rotation is now a separate charge on top of the astronomical price of an oil change and to find out coupons aren’t being accepted until further notice, this is absurd. Why isn’t it posted that coupons aren’t being accepted? I have been going to this location since 2016, but I won’t be back!

and not provide and discussing possible problem may be discover. I mentioned about problem with hood holder and manager BARRY JENSEN was very rude and refer me to see report attached to receipt of payment. Hood holder mentioned in “Client Concerns” but not shown in report itself.
Assuming if i request appointment which was scheduled for 3 pm all job will be done within 30 min (oil change) with all 23 point inspection and Air Pressure check) I came after 1(one ) hour and ask what is status of my car and heard that because to many customers? It takes long time. WHY I HAVE TO Scheduled time and was treated as a walk-in customer??
VERY BAD SEVICE IN FACE OF MANAGER. I not support idea ‘Meineke is a good company
