Terrible Customer Relations, No Call Backs, a Do Not Care Attitude, Horrible Attention to Passengers, etc. etc. etc.
I had a wonderful river cruise through Holland several years ago with my Husband. After he passed away a friend and I booked a cruise through Switzerland, Germany and France. We did the four day extension at the beginning of the trip in Switzerland. Cruise was cancelled due to covid, but, we rebooked for last May. We had free airfare the first booking but that wasn’t available when we rebooked so we coughed up the extra money for the air fare. I purchased the insurance. My roommate, Marcyne Guyer tested positive for covid on June 1st while we were at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Geneva. We were verbally informed of her positive test on the morning of June 2nd. They gave us separate rooms at that time in Zermott and I was allowed to take the train trip to the base of the Matterhorn with the group on June 2nd. On the morning of June 3rd I was informed I would not be allowed to board the train for the glacier tour because of my close contact with Marcyne, even though I had spent the entire day with the group the day before and was still asymptomatic. We were driven to Basil and told we had to stay there till we both tested negative. We had to pay for our stay in the hotel in Basil and were told Viking would reimburse us. On the 3rd day we were re-tested and both tested negative. (I’d Always tested negative). We were sent home via Frankfort, Germany, Dallas, Texas and then Tucson. I have sent two packets of receipts etc. to the insurance company and now they say they need Written proof that Marcyne tested positive. We were never given anything in writing. I’ve called Viking several times and they refer me to the insurance co. and the insurance co. tells me they have no access to Viking. I KNOW Viking has to have it in their computer somewhere that we were sent home because of the positive test. I requested to continue with the cruise but was told once I was excluded I could Not rejoin the group. I’m very frustrated and am considering hiring a lawyer to pursue this claim. Please help!
