About Vera Bradley, History and Headquarters Information

Vera Bradley, Inc. was incorporated back by two friends Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller in 1982 and is based in Roanoke, Indiana. They both felt the lack of feminine-looking luggage for women and took a decision to make it on their own; with a mission to make women’s lives better and to bring beauty to the world.

Vera Bradley is well known as the designer and manufacturer of women’s handbags, luggage and travel items, fashion and home accessories, and gifts. The distribution of its products takes place through its factory outlet stores in the United States, an online site, verabradley.com, and its annual outlet sale in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This designer brand is popular for its iconic prints, smart styles, and quilted-cotton bags. Along with all these products, it has a licensed product range that includes bedding, swimwear and cover-ups, readers/frames/sunglasses, stationery, tech, socks, medical uniforms, and sleepwear/loungewear. Currently, there are around 2600 employees working here. It widened its focus to add include solid microfiber, leather, and nylon fabrication to its wide variety of offerings. Recently, it is operating 99 full-line stores and 57 factory outlet stores.
