Tufts Health Plan Claims Processing Dept. has denied a Skilled Nursing Facility claim in error, having requested information from Medicare that does not exist. I am the Billing Specialist who has been trying to get this claim paid. I have left a phone message with Daven, the Tufts Health Plan Administrator and hope he will call me back. I have been in contact with the Tufts Health Plan Senior Provider Disputes Resolution Specialist, who has tried to intercede for me in this matter. The outcome has been fully negative. I believe Tufts Health Plan Claims Processing Unit has disregarded, rejected, and not understood CMS Rules, and the documents that are available for claims processing for a Skilled Nursing Facility Part A claim. Otherwise, the claim would be paid for date of service in question. This is an urgent matter, and requires a response from the Payer. Please respond. Thank you.
