I went to the This is it in Stockbridge on Henry Blvd. My order consist of rib tips, greens, potato salad, mac and cheese. Everything was ok except the greens which was not done, and the rib tips were fatty, and they gave me mostly bones. For that type of money
It was not to my satisfaction. A displeased customer.
Hi, I am Teresa Gibson, a regular customer of your store on Hwy 85 in Riverdale across from Chick-fil-A. I’m requesting half of my money back from the purchase of what were supposed to be the $69.99 & $36.99 containers of chitterlings. I have been buying this for the last two years at this store for my Annual Fall Festival Dinner. Before this location, I purchased them at the Fayetteville location. I have been satisfied with the purchase every time except today!
Prior to Covid 19, they used to allow you to taste the chitterlings before purchasing them. Now that you can’t taste them, you have to take your chances. Today when I got home to taste them before serving to my guests, I realized they were mixed with pork malls (or as we country girls call them, hog malls). I called the store to say that there was no sign saying the chitterlings were mixed with pork malls when I was purchasing them. I talked to three different men who said they were not mixed with pork malls. Finally, the last person said they come to them pre-packaged. I told them you can say they are not mixed all you want; however, that is not true. I also told him that I don’t know if you have changed suppliers since this is my first time experiencing this. Who knows how long this has been happening and maybe other customers just didn’t complain, or they were young customers who don’t know the difference. If they come pre-packed and are mixed, then your supplier is cheating you unless they give you a discount because they know the package is not ALL chitterlings. I know the difference between pork malls and pork chitterlings. We Black people are very used to adding pork malls to our chitterlings to stretch them for large families – so there is no fooling me! Pork malls are a little thicker than chitterlings in texture and have less fat. They also taste different than chitterlings. Again, lots of people mix the two different meats together. However, this should be my choice as the consumer vs. This Is It BBQ & Seafood mixing them without displaying a sign saying they are mixed. If there was a sign stating as such, I would have had the option of purchasing them with that knowledge vs. having to find out once I got home.
Again, this is the first time that this has happened to me as each of the previous purchases of chitterlings have been ALL chitterlings. I’m really upset because this was a very expensive purchase, and I didn’t get what I paid for. Pork malls are cheaper than pork chitterlings, so I feel I was cheated out of half of my money. There seems to be more pork malls in this purchase than pork chitterlings. I happen to like both but again I paid for chitterlings, NOT malls. Everyone doesn’t like malls, so I have never mixed them for my Fall Festival Dinner guests.
Lastly, I’m very disappointed that This Is It BBQ & Seafood is passing off these two mixed meats as All chitterlings and thinks no one will notice. I guess they don’t care since you can’t taste them in the store and once you get them home you can’t return them, so the store has your hard-earned money. This is an awful way to treat your customers!
I’m requesting at least $58.85 in reimbursement from this fraudulent purchase:
[69.99 + 36.99 = 106.98 + 8% tax (8.56) = $115.54 + ½ of the 4.30 Non Cash Adj (2.15) = $117.69 divided by 2 = $58.85]
Please respond at your earliest opportunity.
