The Container Store was founded back in 1978 by two co-workers of the paint department of Montgomery Ward, Garret Boone and Kip Tindell. They both along with John Mullen opened a space in Dallas where they offered products which were targeted to ease the life of people by saving customers space and time and improving the quality of their lives. They kept unusual things like commercial parts bins, mailboxes, popcorn tins, burger baskets, milk crates and wire leaf burners in their stores which were rarely found in other stores. The chain expanded to 80 locations by 2016. The company was featured on FORTUNE magazine’s list of “100 Best Companies to Work For.” It has its headquarters in Coppell, Texas, United States.
