This new service using Instacart is horrible. Paper bags rip, food being crushed, poor quality of food being shopped. My last 2 orders were a mess. Not to mention the service of carrying groceries up stairs which I depend on as a Senior. I might as well order through Instacart not getting charged a delivery fee because I pay a yearly membership. I know you won’t answer. But I’m a Senior and many of my Senior friends are very disappointed. How sad we don’t matter.
STOP & SHOP CERTAINLY KNOWS HOW TO PUT ITSELF OUT OF BUSINESS. I shop at two stores in Stamford, CT: the Shoprite on Newfield Avenue and Stop & Shop on Bedford St. S & S Bedford St. is extremely frustrating because it is twice as big as Shoprite Newfield but with half as many checkers. Lines are often 6 customers long, carts loaded, even at non-popular times, and 10 people waiting in line for a self-checkout machine. Because of this, I rarely shop there now, and only for 4 items which the Shoprite store doesn’t carry.
Over the year, I have noticed a definite drop off of customers at this S & S, while the little Shoprite store has become much more crowded. Because they have so many checkers, lines are rarely more than 3 customers long( except around holidays, when you MIGHT, at peak times get 5 customers in a line). Also, unlike at S & S, the Shoprite checkers are more efficient; they rarely talk to each other during transactions.
As for the pickup option? It’s often not best for how I like to shop.
I LOATHE this Stop & Shop for these reasons. I’m tired of DREADING going there.
I – AM – TIRED.
Respectfully, but disgustedly,
Wendy Rosenblum

THIS COMMUNITY HAS AN AVERAGE HOME PRICE OF $550,000.00. YOU WOULD NOT KNOW IT BY THE APPEARANCE OF OUR ONLY GROCERY STORE, STOPNSHOP. EVERYONE IS ASHAMED OF YOUR STORE MOSTLY BECAUSE THE FLOORS ARE CRACKED WITH SOME HOLES….THESE ARE WORN OUT FLOORS ALTHOUGH STAFF CLEANS WELL. PLEASE RIP OUT THIS OLD FLOORING AND INSTALL COMMERCIAL WOOD FLOORS IN THIS STOPNSHOP TO UPGRADE THE APPEARANCE TO REFLECT THE COMMUNITY BETTER. YOU ARE TRADITIONALLY BEING VERY “TRAILER CHEAP” WITH US, AND WE KNOW IT. THIS IS A DESIREABLE AND GORGEOUS WATERSHED LAKE COMMUNITY, AN HOUR RROM NYC, AND IS PRISTINE AND SURROUNDED BY STATE PARKS. RINGWOOD’S BEAUTY HAS BEEN DISCOVERED BY TRANSITIONING NYERS. STOPNSHOP NEEDS TO RESPECT US.
Trying to get a copy of my receipt 12/02 today. Is this possible. Just email or text it to me please. Thanks
I have been shopping in your Berkeley Heights, NJ Stop & Shop for many years. My comments here as a loyal customer no more (have now moved on to Shop Rite) are meant to be helpful since this is a small community and Stop & Shop has been here for a long time. A few days ago I went into the store at about 7 pm. When I went to check out only self checkout was available as often happens at this store. It wasn’t like I had 10 or less items (which you should initiate at self checkouts), I had over half a cart full of groceries. I asked the people monitoring the self check out if there was a regular checkout available. They were very flustered as there was a person behind me who was asking the same. Not only was there no one to check us out, but the self checkout machines were full and kept breaking down. This happens all the time at this store. I have to say whoever approved purchasing this self checkout system should have to work with them at a store for a week themselves. They would go mad. There are 6-8 self checkouts that were packed since no checkout employees were working and every one of them kept going down. If my son had not been with me to help I would have left the cart and walked out of the store. And by the way it’s not on me to save you money by checking my cart full of groceries. I don’t mind if I have a few items but this is just wrong. On another note, I needed milk but at least half of the milk refrigerator was empty. My son pointed out that there was a substance that looked like mold on the milk shelves. I took a look and the milk shelves were filthy and indeed looked like mold on them. Not just one or two shelves but all of them. I’ve had enough and decided to move on to another supermarket but I hope for those people who can’t make a change that you decide to do something about these issues. Thank you.
Your self checkout registers are the HARDEST things to use. Today I spent well over $200 and about every other item, I had to call the helper over as it would not acknowledge I had put the item on the side. With one person trying to help 8 self checkout registers and the clerk registers, you can image how responsive she could be. She did her best, but the registers were the problem. I use self checkouts all the time and no other store has these issues. In my area there are 8 grocery stores within 1 mile. You can be sure I will not go to a Stop and Shop again.
Good Morning,
We shop at your store on Station Ave in Yarmouth MA. Your weekly circular used to be in the Thursday CC Times. That stopped a few months ago and we no longer subscribe to the Times.
This morning, I stopped at the Station Ave store. The circular stand had outdated circulars. The front desk was not open so I spoke to a couple of employees. I asked if I could have a current circular. Unfortunately, they were “locked up” and they did not have access to them.
This is not the first time this has happened to us
Perhaps, before the Thurs PM shift leaves for the night, they can put the circulars out in the stand. Making unsuccessful trips to secure a simple circular is getting old.
