In the contract for customer rights, and BY LAW electricity can not be disconnected during a sever weather event/emergency. We had an excessive heat eating in effect the day is got turned off. Also they have my house listed as a business policy not a residence. Inaccurate charges and bill stacking cramming is definitely happening. $500 bills are INEXCUSABLE as a mistake when it’s normally $150-$250. Raised my cost per watt rate without proper notice, and disconnected the electricity randomly without proper notice. Locked out of my account after providing death certificates for original account owners for “fraud”. Couldn’t pay the bill for 3 months….

I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE FOR 2 HOURS REQUESTING TO BE TRANSFERRED TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP IN AMERICA. I WAS NEEDING A PAYMENT EXTENSION FOR MY ACCOUNT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING WEEK. I WAS TOLD BY EVERY REP THAT THEY ARE INABLE TO APPLY AN EXTENSION TO MY ACCOUNT. MY LIGHTS ARE ON THE BRINK OF DISCONNECTION AND THESE SERVICE REPS REFUSE TO TAKE ACTION TO ASSIST ME IN AN EXTENSION. I REQUESTED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO TO CANCEL MY CONTRACT WITH RELIANT BECAUSE OF THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICE GOUGING FOR ELICTRICITY SERVICE IN MY 1 BEDROOM STUDIO APARTMENT. I LIVE ALONE AND WORK 6 DAYS A WEEK..MY BILL SHOULD NOT BE OVER 100 DOLLARS EVERY MONTH. RELIANT IS OVERCHARGING ME, AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND RELIANT.AS THEY HAVE PROVEN TO BE CROOKS.

Dear Sir or Madam,

This missive is regarding one of your employee’s disrespect, incorrect information, and total unprofessionalism. On July 1, 2022, I relocated from Los Angeles, California to Houston Tx. Prior to my departure from LA, I contacted Reliant Energy (since this was included in the apartment’s brochure packet), to be my service provider. At the time, I was unaware of how the charges were measured and that there were multiple services I could have chosen from. However, after residing in the apartment for only 5 days I received a bill for $65. This was very concerning as to the affordability of these services going forth.
After deciding to discontinue my services and being willing to pay the fees for early termination, I called the Reliant Energy Disconnect Department speaking to Mr. Ever Gonzalez, employee ID # 09126630. Once I explained to him the situation and my willingness to pay the early termination fees, I was told by Gonzalez that I couldn’t terminate my contract. After disagreeing with this young man, he then told me to hold on and returned to the call stating that “the system would not allow you to terminate due to pending payment”. Again, I questioned his knowledge and asked for his supervisor. Mr. Gonzalez, asked me to hold on only to return stating that I could terminate, “but it will be 1 to 2 billing cycles before I could terminate my contract. I again asked to speak with his supervisor and he told me to hold for the transfer. I was transferred to another Customer Service Representative. This call was discontinued and I called again, speaking with a CSR who immediately transferred me to Supervisor Bryan Ramirez. Mr. Ramirez was informed of the ordeal and he immediately apologized for the incorrect information given and agreed to terminate my contract.
The conversation with your employee was totally unacceptable and reprehensible relative to the manner in which my concerns were addressed. No one should ever encounter such disregard and disrespect from any employee in a well-established company such as this one.
