Pimco Headquarters Info & Photos
The PIMCO is a 20-story building, having a height of 89.9 meters and has a cumulative floor size of 398,846 square feet – and it sits within a land span of 1.8 acres. The building, which was completed between 2011 and 2013, has a LEED Silver certification. Real estate development firm, Irvine Company LLC was contracted to oversee the construction and Henry Cobb, who worked with American architectural firm, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners as at then, did the (architectural) design.
With PIMCO moving into the building in 2014, it maintains the headquarters within the Newport area which had been its base right from the onset – and this will probably be the case for many years to come. PIMCO formerly had its headquarters domiciled with the Pacific Financial Plaza at 800 and 840 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach.
The floor plates in the headquarters have allowed the company design workspaces wherein employees can conveniently carry out their duties. Also inside the headquarters are multiple private and co-working offices, state-of-the-art conference rooms, trading floor, and other operational spaces.

PIMCO, which launched its business with US$12 million in assets, has evolved to become a leader in the industry.
PIMCO was among the earliest investors to deal in the US mortgage-supported securities market in 1975, and went on to create its Total Return Fund in 1987 – this (product) has grown to be one of its most prominent products. It would later venture into the commodity market in 2000. PIMCO has now grown to manage over US$2.21 trillion in assets.
PIMCO was acquired, as an autonomous subsidiary, by German multinational financial services company, Allianz SE in 2000. San Diego-based asset manager, Gurtin Municipal Bond Management was acquired by PIMCO in 2018.
PIMCO is into the management of assets that exist in form of fixed income, exchange-traded funds, equities, commodities, commodities, private equity, asset allocation, and hedge funds. The assets are managed for central banks, corporations, foundations, universities, high-net-worth individuals, pension funds, and endowments.
The company has designed a host of products and programs to ensure the effectiveness of its services to clients. For instance, the Total Return Fund product – available in four different packages/subscription types – is in place to help PIMCO’s clients maximize their total return while capital is preserved. PIMCO also leverages technological innovation to create an ESG platform that facilitates the collaboration between them and the issuing parties.
Furthermore, PIMCO’s alternative investment model allows high-net-worth investors, with a flexible structure, to pursue attractive return openings. The company also adopts other strategies to provide client-tailored services and even has a range of value-added service offerings in store.
