Visited Petland in Monroeville Pa. Noticed a puppy scratching it’s right ear furiously, for quite a long time and it also had goopey drainage from both eyes. When I told employees about the puppies medical issues they made excuses! I will never buy another product from Petsmart and will be contacting animal neglect agencies to inspect this store!

I was a pet land employee and I have not been payed and I was fired over a month ago and I was fired on the 18th of December and it’s now January 6th 2023 and I’ve not been payed and they keep saying they have a check for me but they do not have a check and when I was there they treated all of there customers like crap they where rude if they didn’t think a customer was gonna guy something or a puppy or a animals they wanted nothing to do with them the people I worked with did not like me bc I was a minor and it was my first job so they made me do most of the dirty work they didn’t wanna do I was made to rush a puppy to the vet as it was crashing when I didn’t have a car or my license I had to call a ride all because someone did not want this other person to leave so they made me 16 year old rush a puppy with low glucose to the vet they also did not like me bc of the kind of person I am someone with adhd I suggest not working for them they will treat you unfairly I did not like working there because of how they treated me I dreaded going to work bc of how I was treated and most days people did not want to come in because of how they where treated and people where being fired for very stupid reasons they are very very very very picky about everything and anything so if they don’t do it how they want you to do it then your basicly fired

Interesting with the previous comment about Petland issues. I saw a terrier on the available puppy website and inquired if it was still available. I was given impression it was. I completed credit paperwork for monthly payments and approved. I talked to a “Jen” at least three times on the phone prior to the time I went down to the store–I told her I lived two hours away and would be leaving the house early. I scheduled an appt to see the dog on a Thursday (day off from work). I live TWO HOURS from this Petland branch where the dog was located. I get to the store 10 minutes after opening time only to be told the dog was SOLD. “I tried to call you” was what I was told. One message on my house phone was so garbled, I had no idea who was calling. Other calls were “can you call me back?”–now WHY on earth did the person doing the calling not just leave a MESSAGE and tell me that dog was no longer available? I never got the chance to call her back; I have a job just like she does. Never got the chance to call. .SHE could have left a message on one of her phone calls . I drove back home –another TWO HOUR DRIVE and had to refill the gas tank as well. Then today, 12/28 @ 11AM, the wound was opened again– I get another call from “JEN” asking if I wanted to see any other puppy. My response: “why, so I can drive another two hours and get to the store only to be told whatever dog I was interested in was sold?” I did that already. I told her I would not be doing any business with Petland in the future. The Petland survey was completed with this information as well. I have no proof and I am not making accusations, but it did go through my mind that this dog was sold way before I ever got to the store on that Thursday. It went through my mind that the dog’s picture was never taken down from the website (it is now, but it wasn’t then) in order to get a potential customer’s interest, and some employee got some “bonus” points for getting a customer to get credit approval. Very disappointed in how this entire situation was handled. IF IF IF there was a terrier puppy, I hope the little thing got a good home. It would have had a terrific home with me. From now on, I go to reputable breeder and not a pet store.

Hello, I bought a dog from the Grove City Petland on Sunday 12/11/22 at 5:30pm. When we got to the store we held a few dogs but was highly interested in the English Mastiff female puppy. We were told that she was on rest the rest of the day because she has been out of the cage most of the day being played with. I filled out the application and when it was approved the store associate Emily asked me which one i was taking home. I proceeded to ask how long the approval was from and I would come back when the English Mastiff was able to be played with. She said well if you want her I will go ahead and bring her out and if you take her home today I will give you an extra 100 off. When we were seeing her, we asked numerous times why her breathing was shallow and she was breathing to fast. We were told she was nervous. So we decided to bring her home. By the time we made it home she puked 3 times and when we got home had diarrhea. Her breathing got much worse over night and by 8:30AM we were at the vet and were being told that she would have to stay atleast 5 days because she had pneumonia and needed IV fluids and antibiotics. Come to find out her weight was only 12.8 lbs and she is 13 weeks old. She should be atleast 30lbs. She is severely underweight. I go to register her today 12/13/2022 with AKC and I am being told that she is unable to be registered because she is registered through canine partners and she is a mixed breed. I was never informed that she was a mixed breed and I was told she could be registered through AKC. First, I am sold a sick dog, second I am lied to about the breed of the dog. No, I do not want to return my dog, but if indeed my dog is a mixed breed then I do not and will not pay for a dog that is mixed for a purebred price. First time I called Petland on 12/12/2022 I was told the manager wasnt in, I proceeded to say I would hold and then he all of sudden just walked through their door. I called again today 12/13/2022 over the breed issue and again were told he was not in the store.
