    I had booked a vacation to New York on July 7, 2021 for September 1-4, 2021. Due to not yet being vaccinated I canceled the trip on August 5, 2021. In trying to obtain a refund I was initially told that I could not get one. Asked why since the hotel did not get the money, but that Orbitz is the one who had the money. Again was told that I could not get a refund. After calling back, I spoke with Ahmed H who told me that all I had to do was send the email he had sent to me back with a contact from the hotel and get a name and authorization to refund the money. Which I did! New York is requiring proof of vaccination. Needless to say I did all of that. On August 18, 2021, I called back to check on the status of the refund. Was told that the hotel had not authorized refund. Asked why the hotel was being contacted again when I had been instructed what to do to obtain an refund WHICH I had. The agent contacted the hotel while I was on hold but said the manager, not sure which one would not authorize the refund. Why was I put through all of that IF the money was not going to be refunded. AGAIN why I am asking the hotel to refund money that they never received? ORBITZ GOT THE MONEY!!!!

    I called three times today, August 18, 2021. The last time was to get the address for the corporate office that I was told I had to be put on hold for about four minutes. I asked why so long just to get an address? This type of customer service is unacceptable. The virtual HELP is a joke!!!!!

    I will NOT ever be booking anything through Orbitz again and instructing friends and relatives not to do the same. Had I been given the refund, I would have booked again to go to a different location through Orbitz. We booked another trip with the same dates but with your competitor, Hotwire! Who I have always booked through previously, but wanted to give you guys and opportunity which was a MISTAKE on my part. I will continue booking all trips in the future with Hotwire!!
