The main aim of the company was to manufacture TVs, radios and phonographs. Magnavox created the first plasma displays for computer applications and for the military as well. In the year 1972, Odyssey, the first video gaming console, was introduced by the company. The Philips of the Netherlands owned the company in the year 1974, to ensure the distribution for their VLP nationally. Headquarters: Spring City, PA 19475, USA.

We purchased a Magnavox record player in 1973. It is a floor model/cabinet finished in antique white. It is octagonal in shape. Two of the side panels are open to allow for speakers. The openwork is covered with fabric that is still in immaculate condition, as is the player itself. The front of the model has a two-door opening to allow for access to the player. It plays all 3 speeds of vinyl records. I cannot find the manual and I find no numbers of any sort anywhere on the cabinet. I would like to buy needles for the player but I do not have a number for them. Can you help me with this problem? I know it uses a diamond point needle, but nothing else. I would appreciate any help given. I have searched everywhere to no success. Thank you. Patricia Sallberg.
