About Lexmark, History and Headquarters Information
Lexmark was founded in the year 1991. The company has been active for almost 28 years now. The company was formed during the time when IBM had divested most of its businesses, including its printer and printer supply operations as well. The divested businesses were bought over by an investment firm known as Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. In the year 1995, the company had become a limited public entity as well. The initial talks about the taking over started during the Remax World Expo, in the year 2016. It was announced by the company that the headquarters of the company would remain the same and the enterprise software business line of the company would be renamed to Kofax.
Later onwards, the non-enterprise software business part of the company was sold over to Thoma Brava management group. Thoma Brava then agreed to sell over the Perceptive Business Unit again to Hyland Corporation.
