About Lexmark, History and Headquarters Information
History
Lexmark was founded in the year 1991. The company has been active for almost 28 years now. The company was formed during the time when IBM had divested most of its businesses, including its printer and printer supply operations as well. The divested businesses were bought over by an investment firm known as Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. In the year 1995, the company had become a limited public entity as well. In the year 2016, it was reported that the company would be taken over by PAG Asia Capital and Apex Technology, for about $3.6 billion. The initial talks about the taking over started during the Remax World Expo, in the year 2016. It was announced by the company that the headquarters of the company would remain the same and the enterprise software business line of the company would be renamed to Kofax.
Later onwards, the non-enterprise software business part of the company was sold over to Thoma Brava management group. Thoma Brava then agreed to sell over the Perceptive Business Unit again to Hyland Corporation. The Kofax brand had remained a part of the company, but various other document management systems of the company, like NolijWeb, Perceptive Content, Intelligent Capture and Enterprise - were all taken over by Hyland Corporation. In the year 2010, the company had taken over Perceptive Software, for about $280 million. The following year, the company had also acquired Pallas Athena, for about $50.2 million. In the year 2012, the company had taken over BDGB Enterprise for about $148 million. The company was also responsible for the purchase for various other companies as well, namely - Saperion AG, ISYS Search Software, Acuo Technologies, ReadSoft, etcetera. In the year 2012, the company had exited the printer business and therefore stopped the production of any more inkjet printers as well. The inkjet business was sold to Funai Electric Company, for about $100 million, which also included the access to almost 1,500 inkjet patents as well. The headquarters of the company is based in 740 New Circle Road. The name of the place is Lexington, while the name of the state is Kentucky, USA. The pin code of the area is 40511.
