About Kindred Healthcare, History and Headquarters Information

I couldn’t agree with “tb” more. It has now been three years since the staff at Kindred Hospital in Kansas City hastened my son’s death. Patient care was really bad, and I am glad Kindred Hospital in Kansas City has closed. Nurses neglected patients to sit at nurses’ station and visit, snack, apply make-up, etc. Nurses even initialized they had read Nursing Supervisor’s instructions but then proceeded not only to give my son the Cumadin (which was to have been stopped) but took it upon themselves (with no orders from anyone) to administer Heparin shots also to my son over the weekend before he was to have surgery. Because of the improper treatment, my son could not have the surgery and passed away unexpectedly that very day. He should still be here to celebrate his birthday on December 26, but thanks to Kindred, rather than celebrating my son’s birthday, I am still mourning the loss of my handsome and loving son. His young son is still mourning the loss of his dad also.
I am not surprised you are selling your skilled nursing and rehab facilities for profit. It’s all about money not about the patient. Your Spring Valley rehab facility put my husband and me through hell. My husband has since passed and the stress of Kindred didn’t help. When I wrote corporate and the Director a letter about it I never received a response. from either, which didn’t surprise me because Kindred doesn’t care about the patient. It’s all about the money. Kindred’s patient care was really bad and we are all better off without Kindred skilled nursing and rehab facilities. I am celebrating.
