About Intel

History

Intel was founded in 1968 by two physicists who were interested in semiconductors. The headquarters was completed in 1970. Intel soon became a major semiconductor company and spread across the globe.

The first name was Moore Noyce which was instantly rejected because of its similarity to “more noise.” They named the company NM Electronics and later changed the name to Intel which stands for Integrated Electronics.

Intel intended to dominate the semiconductor memory market, focusing on replacing the magnetic-based memory systems in place. They worked on this basis and made Intel a semiconductor company.

Intel started making ROM and RAM over the years for various memory-saving devices. They created the first microprocessor known as the Intel4004. They moved on with integrated circuits and dynamic ROMs.

Though Intel lost its momentum in the early 2000s, it regained it in 2005 by introducing various chips and microprocessors into the market. On the way, Intel acquired many networking and semiconductor industries under its banner, making it the largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world.

Services

They manufacture and provide microprocessors to most known laptop manufacturing companies such as Dell, Lenovo, HP Inc, etc. Intel’s products and services revolve around microprocessors and memory systems.

Intel has a wide range of processors that suit your application and performance requirements. Some of them are Intel Xenon, Intel Core, Pentium, Intel Atom, etc.

Intel also produces personal computers and workstations on its own. Its major customers and markets include PC manufacturers and processing system users.

Its other products include graphics processing units, memory and storage systems, wireless products, drones, tablets, smartphones, servers, chipsets for mobiles and calculators, and networking services.
