About Hyatt, History and Headquarters Information
My friend and I had planned a trip to Houston, and, at my recommendation, she booked a room at the Hyatt Regency in Houston for 5 nights this week. Upon our arrival, we waited for about 5 minutes for valet service only to discover there was no service. We looked for a trolley to carry our luggage to our room; there was no trolley. At check-in we were advised that, in addition to no valet service, there was no housekeeping, only 1 restaurant open, no room service, etc. The person at the desk blamed the situation on Covid 19 restrictions; however, Houston is in Phase 3. Later we found out this lack of service was due to renovations. Whatever the reason, there is no excuse for such poor management decisions. At the very least, we should have been informed at the time of reservation. Had we wanted to save money and stay at a 3d rate motel, that would be one thing, It is not only that we are paying full price but that management here didn’t seem to considered that, whatever the situation, a hotel of this calibre needs to provide at least housekeeping and valet. My friend emailed corporate and received a response within 5 minutes, and thereafter the manager contacted us, explaining that low demand due to their situation necessitated keeping rates a normal levels. Fine. We got a break on water at Einsteins. I am not complaining about the price. I am upset that management here seems to think customers should bear the brunt for the hotel’s problems. Bad management; bad business. Will not return.
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Puerto Rico from 2/12/2020 til 2/20/2020. It has been reopened and renovated in the last 6 months. I was not happy with the service I received. I stayed for 8 nights and my used soap was removed from my room on the second night and no new soap was left. I had to call for 2 days before they brought new soap to my room. When I called the second time, I heard the people giggling in the back round. My room was not made up for 2 nights and one night they made up the room at 6 pm so I had to wait at the beach until my room was cleaned. On the second to last day, I asked for toilet paper and tissues. They left the items and did not make up the room and no clean towels were left. When I complained, Alba the supervisor, came to my room and I told her about my experience. My room was made up to my satisfaction after speaking to her. In addition, on top of paying an additional nightly hotel fee, we were charged for self parking my rented car about $20 a day. I have traveled to many places and stayed in numerous hotels and I have never been treated this way by any hotel I stayed at. In addition, my lanai had puddles of water because of the rain so we couldn’t sit out there and the chairs were always wet. And the shower water did not drain properly and most times my bathroom floor was soaked.
I wouldn’t probably stay at another Hyatt in the future unless it was a last resort. I truly was disappointed. And I am not the type of person that complains about things but it was disappointing and I thought I should share my experience.
We were guests at Hyatt in Sarastoa on Blvd of the Arts location. Room 814. We asked to be moved but there were no other rooms available. Stayed Feb 16 – 23rd inclusive. The shower leaked all over the floor every time we used it – mess for cleaning staff daily. The tub was very old and chaulking missed in many spots. There were two mould spots around the tub. The towels were disgusting. They were clean but dirty in colour. Very thin, overly washed and not enough until we complained. The pool/food hut were lovely. As was the view very nice. We didn’t know there was heat in the room as the temp dropped 30 degrees on Thurs – very cold. Thermostat did not show heat available.
Managers of local Hyatt in Charleston, SC is unresponsive to customers. Does not return phone calls nor emails.
Please re-evaluate your policy allowing an 18 year old to rent a room, especially for members of military institutions with a government ID. Turning two 18 year old female (cadets) away with a paid online reservation at 1:30am (on a stormy night) is a terrible policy! They obtained a weekend pass to go support their track teams, took the train to Princeton then an Uber to the Hyatt Regency Princeton.
After being refused a room, they had to call another Uber to take them to a Days Inn, thankfully. They were not even able to collect a refund receipt “due to her age”.
Please evaluate the Honolulu Hawaii- Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa. Your computer is being monitored by someone. Please evaluate the Tysons Corner Hyatt in Alexandria, Virginia. Someone told me over the intercom that my vegetables were poisoned.
