About Eventbrite

History

Founded by Kevin Hartz, Julia Hartz, and Renaud Visage in 2006, Eventbrite was one of its kind back in the day. This is why it enjoyed the reputation of the major player in online event management during its initial years. The platform gradually expanded to different countries and opened its first international office in the year 2012.

In 2018, under the symbol of EB, Eventbrite went public on the New York Stock Exchange.

Services

Eventbrite is a ticketing and event management website. It helps users create, share, browse, attend, and promote live events. The website is like an online invitation where you can organize events and even charge for tickets. To start with this platform, users need to sign up with an account and start creating and looking for events near them.

On this platform, you can post an event online and sell tickets for the same, browse for events and buy tickets, promote an event and customize the event’s page, sell tickets at the door of an event, and track events and tickets. The company charges fees from event organizers which is the major source of its income.

Facts

  • More than 50 million people have attended events through Eventbrite
  • Per week, the average number of tickets on the platform is about 3 million
  • In 2019, the total number of events held via Eventbrite totaled 4.7 million
  • The company has a Trustpilot rating of 1.7 that shows a high number of dissatisfied customers

  • Janice Schattman says:

I just want to unsubscribe. There is no unsubscribe link on the email. There is no way to unsubscribe offered on the website except to set up an account, give them your personal information and authorize Eventbrite to sell it to the world. Same for contacting support. I have now been on hold at corporate headquarters for an hour.

  • Janice Schattman says:

I loate Eventbrite. It is a virtual tar baby. Once you unwittingly buy a ticket through Eventbrite, you are stuck in their system for life. There is no way to unsubscribe without creating an account you do not want, giving them your personal information and agreeing to their unconscionable terms and conditions. “Support” is an illusion. There is no way to initiate a chat or contact customer support without setting up an account, just to unsubscribe.

  • Lynn says:

This company is impossible. I would never use them for my event. They will not answer their phone and they just charge credit cards with bogus charges. Any company that will not even answer a telephone call cannot be trusted.

    • Cassandra Starks says:

You so right I have been trying to contact them for hours no answer or nothing did not get my tickets when I ordered them and paid for them with my Apple Pay!! Im pissed

  • John Doe says:

do not get on this company’s systems. They violate Federal law and do not allow you to unsubscribe. When you call it is even more difficult to get into this systems. And when you do eventually get to a person, it is just as frustrating as trying to navigate their systems to get out of their systems. I am not sure how I got in their system, but I tried to get out. It took several hours, numerous phone calls and a great deal of research that was mostly dead ends. I eventually got someone who agreed to remove me from their system, but it remains to be seen if that is actually going to happen.
