About Dunkin' Donuts
History
Dunkin Donuts was founded in 1948 under the name Open Kettle by William Rosenburg. He capitalized on the fact that all the industries around Quincy had doughnuts and coffee for snacks. He sold doughnuts in industrial and other labor-concentrated areas to maximize the profits.
He changed the company name to Dunkin Donuts in 1950. They went on to open their first franchise in 1955. By 1963, they opened their 100th owned location, and by 1964, they opened their 1000th franchise.
It took them 24 more years to open their 2000th franchise in 1990. The company ran with mediocre amounts of success until 2004 when they relocated their headquarters to Canton.
It expanded its network in 1990 by acquiring two rival brands, and it was acquired by Baskin Robins in the same year. Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robins became subsidiaries of Dunkin brands by 2004. They were jointly sold to Carlyle Group in the fall of 2005.
Today, Dunkin Donuts is an international chain with many outlets and various food items on its menu.

Don’t expect fast service when you go inside the Dunkin Donuts in Warren Ma you usually get ignored or if they wait on you it takes more than 10 minutes to get a coffee. We ordered coffee and a toasted bagel with cream cheese the bagel was not toasted, the girl Kendra didn’t make sure we got the coffee first she just went to make the bagel which was not toasted at all they forgot to make my ice coffee there was 3 employees not one was properly trained I had to speak up and ask where our coffee was no problem at the drive thru there they make that area priority one girl was yakking to the drive thru window employee instead of making sure all customers were waited on first SUCH POOR SERVICE
I live in the DFW area. My husband only likes French crullers and just was told you don’t make them any more. Is this regional or everywhere?
I was burned with hot coffee today as I was handed a cup with the lid not on right. Never felt so much pain in my life. I was strapped in my car with the seatbelt screaming in pain and the employee handed me some napkins. Went straight to my Doctors office as it was on my way home. My hip and top of my leg is burned. I was covered in hot coffee. My new car is drenched with coffee everywhere. Seat, console, carpet and my clothes and purse. Employee would not give me her name nor the managers or owner. I am waiting to call corporate office in morning. I will keep ice on burn per Drs orders and I am to call if it blisters appear. 330-758-3441 is my contact no
Some weeks ago I purchased two Americana stainless steel Dunkin coffee mugs at the Dunkin at 4105 Clarles Avenue in Rockford, Illinois at $16.00 each and today I stopped at the same location to get a refill of one of them and was told that Dunkin cannot refill the mug. I spoke with the manager who told me it’s against company policy.
How ridiculous. Dunkin just lost a customer. I can get Dunkin in the grocery store, I don’t need this petty BS.
How sad, I wrote to Dunkin about my experience while traveling. It took place at a drive thru on Peach Street in Erie Pa. The employee who was working the drive thru didn’t know what the specials were, was in a total fog. When we received the coffeesand was driving away I noticed my passengers lid had something on it so I pulled to the front of the store, she went in, told the employee and asked for a new lid. Employee shrugged her shoulders with an I Don’t Care attitude. Absolutely no training.
