I was so disappointed today with the slidell Copeland restaurant. We arrived about 1pm ordered 2 drinks and one appetizer.. we chose Copelands because we wanted bayou broccoli, nope out of that. So we ordered popcorn shrimp. Big mistake so salty Terrible! We decided not to order lunch because the appetizer was so salty. The waitress apologized and said it was the #1 complaint. then the manager came by and asked how everything was, we td him. He apologized for the appetizer, no offer to remove it. That confirmed our decision not to order lunch. He should have offered something, but no he didn’t. I want a refund.

Today I went to Copeland’s for a holiday get together with my office team. My co-worker got there at 11:25am for a 12 noon lunch date and she asked for a table of 8 and was told that each individual had to present before they could seat us. At 12:15PM everyone arrived and when she went to the desk the host told her that there was not a table available. We waited for another 30-35 minutes and when I went to the desk the host acted as thought I was bothering her and all she was doing was talking with her co-worker and laughing. I asked for a manager and she came and told me that she was cleaning a table off and she came back about 5 minutes later and we were seated. The waiter/waitress came and when asked what was on the bar we were told just about everything on the menu will be on the bar, so the majority of the table ordered the buffet bar. After waiting so long and trying to be patient, everyone anticipated a great meal. Nope, not at all! For the party that ordered off the menu, their food was cooked beyond well-done and showed up almost 30 minutes later in which one had ordered a bisque (soup). For those who choose the bar, it had very limited options, having mostly chicken. The turkey and dressing was dry and for a mostly seafood, New Orleans style cuisine, there was no fried shrimp, and no New Orleans or creole dishes. There were no fresh salad options other than salad saturated with dressing. The other dishes were full of oil and butter. I could only eat the steamed vegetables and blackened, cajun catfish. So, after everyone was finished eating or barely eating, we decided to ask for a manager. The manager, Mike Baktavar came over and he was very dismissive. He stated that, “you should have said something earlier so we could fix it”, then he said he was sorry and walked away. I was floored to see a manager handle such dissatisfied customers this way! No one was asking that we get a free meal but at least he could have took a percentage off or offered a coupon or meal on him at our next visit. Everyone was totally disgusted by not only the food but the way we were treated and none of us wants to come back to THIS Copeland’s restaurant.
