Cerro wire was established by Hyman Cohn as Circle Flexible Conduit Co., Inc. in 1920. In the beginning, they made and marketed armored cable and flexible steel conduit. They began manufacturing insulated wire and increased the line of various types of copper wire and cable. By 1935, the company was renamed to Circle Wire & Cable Corp. The company built its main plant in Maspeth, NY. in 1938. It is headquartered in Hartselle, Alabama.
