About Blood Systems Inc, History and Headquarters Information
Vitalant was incorporated by Opal Davis and Kitty Baldwin in 1943 under the name Salt River Valley Blood Bank in Phoenix, Arizona. United Blood Services was the first interstate blood bank. In 2018, all its brands such as Lifeblood, Blood Centers of the Pacific, BloodSource, Bonfils Blood Center, Central Blood Bank, Community Blood Services, Inland Northwest Blood Center, LifeShare, LifeSource, and United Blood Services merged to form Vitalant.
Formerly known as United Blood Services, Vitalant works as a non-profit organization. It collects blood samples of donors and provides all the blood, blood products, and services to local and nearby hospitals all over the United States.Today Vitalant provides its services in almost 40 states and has more than 127 blood donation centers. This organization acts as a communications network and information source for the general public and offers volunteer, research, and educational resources opportunities.
