Bill Heard III
Bill Heard Chevrolet is a automobile dealership company. The headquarters of the company was located in Columbus, Georgia. It was spread across 13 locations in the US. It is the largest dealer of Chevrolet. It became dysfunctional since 2008 as the car sales slowed down. The dealers were spread across Alabama, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida. It then filed bankruptcy. The annual revenue was estimated to be 3 billion US dollars.
It was founded in 1919 by William Heard. In 1961, the company was expanded widely when his son took over the company. It even received the Dealer of the year award during this period. However, in 2007 it began to face monthly losses. It was also due to the diminishing of subprime lending. It was the 11th largest automobile dealer in US and the largest in Georgia.
The closure of the dealer began with its Scottsdale store in Arizona. Rising fuel costs was also another major reason for the closure.
