About Banana Republic, History and Headquarters Information

Banana Republic is the foundation of two entrepreneurs, Mel and Patricia Ziegler who happened to have a unique taste and collected the interesting outfits whenever they traveled. They had a store in Mill Valley in Northern California that targeted mainly on safari and expedition wear.  They grabbed the attention after the catalogue full of hand-drawn items and stories (they were quite famous for) got published. Following which, Gap Inc. bought Banana Republic and rebranded it and changed its name from “Banana Republic Travel & Safari Clothing Company” to Banana Republic, keeping the promise of looking after its unique spirit.

Banana Republic is an American retailer company that deals in clothing and accessories. The company has also hired Olivia Palermo to promote the company as a brand ambassador. It has stores in around 700 locations covering Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Using the finest material and the latest innovation, it is counted as one of the best destinations for the people looking for modern styled clothes without any boundaries.

The headquarters of the company is situated at San Francisco, California, United States.

I just received 4 emails from the Banana Republic Factory at 1:50 a.m. telling me thank you for my order that I already have returned and was refunded. Something is wrong with your system. Called your Customer Service and spoke to a Hispanic I could hardly understand, and she was rude and raised her voice and couldn’t give me a good explanation. Please call me and fix this mess! Why would any co advertise with a No Return – final sale policy. Absurd ! A no go for the consumer

  • Patricia Battersby says:

Frustrated by your Banana Republic Factor Outlet website. I buy most of my clothes from BR now, and there are pictures that are advertising a shirt, but the model is wearing a belt bag and twill cargo pants with the shirt. The frustrating part is that you don’t sell the pants or the belt bag. If you’re showing a model with an ensemble, have the entire outfit pieces at the bottom. If you need more specifics, please contact me. I have pictures that I can use as an example.

    Hello
The reason for this text is to report a problem we are living . One of your store located at 82 nd street IJackson Heights Queens New York 11372. There is a pile of turd outside of the store on the left side. This turd is being there for more than 3 weeks and it smell. I wonder when it is going to be clean?

I visited the Banana Republic Factory Store located on Steinway Avenue & 31st Avenue in Queens, NY yesterday. As I approached the register to pay for the merchandise there were two people at the counter one I’m assuming was the manager and a young lady, I asked were they available to ring up the items, I was greeted with a blank stare and no response as if I was speaking a language that they were not familiar with. Not one time did they acknowledge me; the “manager” just proceeded to ask the other workers about their work schedules and the whereabouts of the other employees. I’m writing this because the employees at BRF should never take advantage of the fact that they are employed. They never know who’s on the other side of the counter. Thank You.

I am in my late 60’s (young at heart) and had the pleasure of walking into Banana Republic, Natick, MA to look for a casual outfit for a function I was sponsoring. Anyone who knows me knows that I hate going to ANY store as I’m not a shopper BUT I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I was greeted and served by your Aysha Hussain. Not only did she make me feel important and comfortable, she helped me put the perfect outfit together. I hesitated with her suggestions but low and behold, she knew exactly what I needed in fit, look and quality….I purchased more than I needed as her guidance was spot on……Kudos BR for hiring an exceptional concierge staff! I’ll be back!!! One disappointment is your survey website for feedback as it is not secured…..I do hope you get this comment and award Aysha for her amazing service.

I just composed this email entitled: NOT TRUSTWORTHY …… I WENT TO PAY MY BANANA REPUBLIC BILL USING MY CREDIT CARD, AS WE WERE TOLD WE COULD DO …. AND YES “IT’S NOT POSSIBLE!”!! I GUESS IF IT SOUNDS “too good to be true”… it probably is!!

I THINK CORPORATE NEEDS A LESSON IN HONESTY THAT THEY CAN PASS ON TO THEIR EMPLOYEES! THEY HAVE A GOOD GAME GOING BUT IN THE END IT WILL HURT BUSINESS. ☹️
