    i am now told that in order to complete my flight change i have to have someone else use their credit card and name. they are sitting on $255 of mine and will not let me put it towards tickets. these folks screwed with the wrong American. You all need to read this.https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/Avianca-Order-2022-11-10. It is about them sitting on refunds and being fined and told to stop.

    I bought a ticket for my brother from Sao Paulo to Guyana passing through Miami but do not have a US transit visa thus cannot transit in the US without it. I needed a refund because I was unaware of that fact and he would not be able to ever use that ticket. I cannot afford another ticket for another airline that using another route. Please authorize this refund he is going for free cancer treatment. Ticket information PNR: 4FGIXS.

    Necesito ayuda con un reinbolso porque la aerolínea no permitió viajar. Los agentes en el aeropuerto fueron desalmados y muy irrespetuosos ante la situación. Mi motivo de viaje era para poder enterar a mi abuelo en su tierra natal y aun así no me pudieron dejar viajar porque según ellos mi pasaporte se caduca en 5 meses y ellos quieren que tenga 6 meses o mas antes de expiración. Dijeron ellos que no podía viajar porque eran reglas de la aerolínea ahora díganme si es eso una regla porque no especifican eso en la página web o cuando uno se comunica vía teléfono porque llame varias veces y hable con varios agente por teléfono antes del día de mi viaje. Incluso cuando hice el check in en la mañana antes del viaje no me dieron ningún aviso ningún mensaje de que había algún problema con mi pasaporte. Hicieron que perdiera mi vuelo y el vuelo de mi hijo que es menor de edad y no podía viajar sin mi. Esto no es justo pague mi pasaje y el de mi hijo y se nos trato de la peor forma. Esto no fue un viaje de placer mas fue un viaje por motivos del fallecimiento de mi Abuelo. Y ahora no voy a llegar a recibir el cuerpo de mi abuelo y no hay quien me ayude con esto. Es una pena inmensa que llevo ahorita fue la primera vez que viajaba con esta compañía y me e llevado la peor experiencia de mi vida. Alguien de esta compañía puede darme respuestas por favor.

    It’s October 2023—do not use this airline!! I’ve been on the phone for 12 hours!!! trying to fix a misspelled name on a flight booking and they refuse to do so. They also refuse to refund me the ticket so I can rebook. I asked one of the many people I spoke to if I could speak to a manager and she said no. Her suggestion was that in the future I don’t misspell names. The audacity of this woman! This would be my first time flying with them and have never felt with such poor customer service. DO NOT fly with them!

    I will never do business with this company again. I bought a refundable ticket and something came up that I wasn’t able to travel. I followed all the requested steps and submitted all the forms for refund. This was 5 months ago and I’ve spent countless hours talking to agents that are clueless. The responses from them is always “you have to wait longer”. How long does it take for a refund? Almost 6 months and counting. I will be exposing this company scam on social media to prevent others from getting scammed by this company.

    WORST AIRLINE EVER!!! in March 2020 I was “”refunded”” 3 tickets and after many attempts inquiring where my refund was, they never knew and would tell me they’d call me back, which never happened. I didn’t get an answer until April??. 2021 after being on hold for 4.45 hours and got told I’d receive a voucher and he’d start the process! More over a year, and my money was just sitting there chilling!!! Current issue is the UATP card, since it can only be used combined with other payments if you use the Colombia and Brazils website, and their website is as bad as their customer service. The UATP card went through, but my personal didn’t, even after approving and verify with my bank. Now the funds on the UATP are gone nowhere to be tracked by the Avianca team, mind me one of them found it and have me the on hold reference number which I open up on Avianca.com with no issues, but they don’t have anything. I just want to pay the remaining if I can’t get it back!!! On top of that, I was at the airport and had paid for an extra checked bag online, the lady at the counter said “it didn’t show on her system”, and that I would have to pay $100 if I wanted the extra bag. After I showed her the receipt, the reservation details where CLEARLY it stated I was allowed 2 checked bags and showed I had purchased the extra one, but since it didn’t show in her system I still had to pay, so we did! No choice with them.

    I wonder how many other people get robbed by this airline also.

    If you’re thinking or using this airline, DON’T!!!

      Same is happening to me I live in California and they are trying to stole from two different tickets, I am trying to fin the address of that company here in USA or California any body knows please tell me because I am suing those vandals..please let me know here thanks

    I don’t know how this airline is still in business. I am dealing with them from a matter from March 2020 and still no one can help me. I have in WRITING from them stating that I have a credit to use and that I need to load a UATP card which when I do continues to give me an error message. I continuously call their customer service so someone can help me use the credit that is owed to me and they just tell me to wait until someone reaches out. NO ONE EVER DOES!!! I have several cases open which they suggested I do and still nothing. This airline is a complete disgrace and are thieves. I will be reporting them to the department of transportation and will share my story on all social media platforms.
