It is an American global aggregate holding organization whose headquarters is located at Whitacre Tower in Downtown Dallas, Texas (United States). AT&T Headquarters is well-known by the name of “One AT&T Plaza”.
Being 177m tall, Whitacre Tower is the thirteenth tallest building in Texas.
The glass and white stones occupy more than 1,000,000 square feet of office space. It is a 37 story high-rise skyscraper-type building, adjoining Akard Street Mall.
Hansen Lind Meyer and JPJ Architects Inc. companies were involved in the construction of this building. The building’s construction ended in 1984.
AT&T’s headquarters was shifted from a place in San Antonio, Texas to Whitacre Tower in 2008.
‘Whitacre Tower’ was renamed in 2009 after ‘Edward Whitacre, Jr.’, a former chief executive, and chairman of AT&T Inc.

History
The company started its journey as the American District Telegraph Company, formed in St. Louis in 1878. It became Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (SBC) in 1920, a subsidiary of American Telephone and Telegraph Company.
The latter was the successor of Bell Telephone Company founded by Abraham Graham Bell in 1877.
It formed the American Telephone and Telegraph Company(AT&T) subsidiary in 1885. American Bell Telephone Company sold its assets to its subsidiary and in this way, AT&T became the parent company.
In 1994, the company was rebranded as AT&T Corp. The latter modified its name to SBC Communications Inc. in 1995.
In 2005,the former parent company “AT&T Corp.” was purchased by SBC and SBC took its branding with a merged entity and named itself AT&T Inc.
During the twentieth century, AT&T had a proprietorship on phone service within the United States.
