About Ann Taylor

History

The founder of the brand ANN taylor, Richard Liebeskind, opened the first Ann Taylor store in Connecticut. The stored was situated in New Haven and was officially launched in 1954. Ann Taylor was considered to be the best-selling dress at the store. The name was given by his father and was considered to be lucky.

Liebeskind decided to keep the name Ann Taylor as his company's official name because it sounded very English and he wanted to evoke a tailored clothing image for his brand. The name Ann Taylor was supposedly created to stand out as a customized and classic women's apparel brand.

About Company

Ann Taylor is a fashion retail brand based in New York City. It is an American chain of several clothing stores particularly for women. The company has its headquarters in New York and it is run like a subsidiary of the Ascena Retail Group. This store offers some classic styled suits, dresses, jumpsuits, shoes, bags and other accessories. This brand has five divisions and Ann Taylor is one of them. The retail and clothing segment is targeted for the women who are fashion forward and want to keep up with the changing fashion trends and styles.

Loft, originally known as Ann Taylor Loft, got established in 1996. This was like an extension to the original brand Ann Taylor. This chain offered more relaxed and casual fashions for women going to work and staying home. The apparels were priced moderate and were considered quite affordable for the working section of the society.

The collection offered at Loft at first was like a casual replica to the regular Ann Taylor collection. That changed over the years and the brand got its own corporate identity. It has now become a popular casual lifestyle brand.

    To whom it may concern,

I was wondering if you knew your cool springs store was being ran by one person. She works, no less, than four doubles every week. She is the only one who goes in two hours early everyday because nobody else will/knows how to open boxes of new inventory that comes in and put out. Her boss Dawn will not do a damn thing about it, no given help, nothing. She’s being the assistant manager and store manager at the same time. She has mental health issues and cannot even leave for twenty minutes to go pick up her medication because she can’t leave the store. For a big corporation you guys really need to learn how to treat your employees, especially if they have mental health issues. I’m sure this won’t even get read by anybody that matters or gives a damn but somebody needs to know this. It’s shitty and if it wasn’t for her the cool springs store wouldn’t even be going. But if she weren’t there, only THEN would you send help from elsewhere. I will put this on your customer feedback page too. Oh and if you guys would pay more than $12 bucks an hour to your employees, you might have some. Did you know the candy store upstairs in the mall is starting at $15 an hour? A CANDY store.

    Best regards,
    Kevin Palmer

I encountered this wonderful saleswoman at the Acton, Ma store. From the minute I walked in the store she greeted me and advised me. I was looking for white pants and shorts and I was so happy to get them and I want to thank Maria! There was such beautiful colorful tops to go with the white pants, and I also ended up with a pair of Jean shorts and beige ones. Maria came into the dressing room to advise on the size and how they look. Maria does the Loft proud. I had a wonderful shopping experience and I can’t wait to wear my new clothes. I love the loft!

  • Terra Burks says:

As Customer I treated very poorly from client Services at Ann Taylor I request for a supervisor to call it been 48 hours regarding my orders, no one has not returned my call. I just recently became a card holder. And very unhappy. I order a coat and the customer service representative had taken down my address wrong and It was sent to my neighbors house she returned because she was not sure why it had her address.
So I called the same day that’s it supposed to be delivered and the client services never catch the address was wrong when had several packages delivered in the as weeks.
I’m a very unhappy account holder.

  • Jane says:

I called customer service to make a zip code correction. The customer service representative, Melanie, notified me that changes cannot be made to an order and suggested that I contact the courier. THE PACKAGE, AS OF TODAY, IS STILL IN PROCESS, AND HAS NOT EVEN SHIPPED YET. THIS HAS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE ANYWHERE ELSE. I also requested to speak to a manager about this, and the customer service representative told me there isn’t anyone available to speak with. No accountability, whatsoever! I am disappointed and will not be buying from Ann Taylor or affiliates.

  • Ellen Rhein says:

I purchased an Ann Taylor dress in November. I wore it twice and one sleeve cuff unraveled. Very dissappointed in the quality coming out of Ann Taylor these days. Your clothes still cost a lot but they wear cheap. I still have dresses and skirts I bought from AT 20+ years ago! Not anyymore. This issue can be repaired by a seamstress so I called customer svc and asked if AT had seamstress services or if they would reimburse me for the repair. It seems a shame to return the whole thing and now too much time has passed. I never even heard back from anyone. Makes me want to throw it in the trash where it belongs. Dissappointed I can no longer shop at a store that is charging WAY too much for clothes that cheap and who don’t stand behind their products. I called and tried to resolve this in a amicable fashion but I guess that is too much to ask… – Ellen (858) 395-1729
