After reading all these comments I do agree 100% but I’m just gonna put it on the table there’s scammers that’s just what it is 2023 almost let’s call it out for what it is for years they scam people and got away with it tell me why if I choose not to be with one agent I have to get permission from that agent to go to another agent that’s my information ,my money I know that people would choose or want to be polite I’m not a polite person I’m a/h these people are scamming us run run and keep running

I had my vehicle stolen in downtown Kansas City from my work. I tracked down my own vehicle and saw the thief run from me. He hit a van, a light pole, and a curb. Then proceeded to run for many many blocks. The police did it not do finger prints or anything due to an overwhelming amount of calls. Honestly felt very bad for them.

The situation that I am in is because I switched over bank accounts and closed out my previous bank account. I did not switch over my insurance. I acknowledge I made a mistake but the insurance company canceled my insurance on November 11th when my payment was due October 23rd. The only attempt to notify me was a piece of mail that wasn’t even certified.

At the time of my vehicle theft my insurance had been canceled for 12 days. I did not receive an email to notify my truck insurance was being canceled, a text, or even a phone call.

The day before Thanksgiving I was notified my insurance was canceled and I am on my own.

I have been on autopay for OVER TWO YEARS WITH AMERICAN FAMILY. NOT A SINGLE LATE PAYMENT OR ONE ISSUE. How can companies preach customer service and they are here to help. The senior claim manager with American Family has been the most rude individual I have ever communicated with. The corporate American Family is saying the Agent can help and the Agent is saying it’s up to corporate.

How can someone pay their payments for 2 years on autopay and then it gets returned for CLOSED ACCOUNT so they send a letter and cancel my insurance without a sliver of effort to notify me.

  • Elio Gonzalez says:

Wow! as I read the comments on this page they mirror some of the same issues were having, been with American Family for 29 years, our agent that gave us great service for all 29 years retired and unfortunately, it’s been all downhill after that, several members of my family have left several messages that have never and will never be returned…it’s all incredibly frustrating and sad, you would think that after 29 years of loyalty I would be worth something to American Family but I guess not. On the flip side, we did receive great service for all 29 years, our prior agent that retired was absolutely the best (I actually did not realize how spoiled I was from receiving excellent service).

    • Bart Solari says:

Elio, that is the down side to getting older and not developing senility. We remember what “service” was ONCE. I may be lucky to die in my sleep.

  • Ron Powell says:

Not impressed with your customer service right now, especially during this pandemic .I have been with American Family for around 30 years. My vehicle was caught in a hail storm and I filed a claim. Since your claims department did not have adjusters working during this pandemic, I took my vehicle to the dealership for an estimate. The dealership in return sent American Family adjusters photos and the itemized estimate. I received a call from your adjusters wanting to send me a check for 25% less. They said since they couldn’t see by the pictures they would pay less. I then spoke the a manager in claims and was lied to by him. He stated the body shop had agreed to their reduced price when that wasn’t what your first adjuster stated. She had said they would start the work and send pics as they were fixing it to show the damage she could not see in pictures. Contact Ron Powell. 417-818-7842. Thanks

your agent shane edge does not return calls or answer messages. I have been dealing with this for a year. I turn in a tool list it takes on average of 6 weeks to hear back on anything. this last time its been over 8 weeks I have left messages on his voice mail with no return call. is this what you mean by excellent service ? this shit is getting old. I feel he is lazy an does not care. I just hope this don’t fall on deaf ears. time will tell .
