  • Charles Goddertz says:

Dear Ms. Kreisberg, I had an awful experience at the 92nd Street Y today, Monday, 12/19/22. From information not posted on your events page, to a security guards tone of voice & misinformation, to a woman, I assume your box office manager, who told me advance tickets for events are not sold to patrons in person & then, in front of two employees at computers selling tickets, sarcastically exclaimed that I would have to pay the fees for ticket purchases. Fees are unavoidable. Her tone implied that I am cheapskate because I came to the box office to purchase tickets for the event. I am myself a dance artist who has worked on Broadway & film. And the 92nd Street Y hosted my dance company on the MainStage in years past. I am an equity member, an SDC member & I am Sag eligible having appeared in the movie, “Enchanted.” I am a tap dance teacher at Steps On Broadway, now for over 30 years & I have a student in the event, Music From The Sole, I came from the Westside to purchase tickets for, unaware that fees, are as this woman so smugly announced, unavoidable. I resent this total atrocious experience from lack of info on your website & lack of people skills by your employees. I am now a 79 year old senior citizen who has never applied for government assistance & have always paid my own way. I do receive from NYC reduced transit fare & Scrie for which I am grateful. For all the good the Y does & it is substantial & appreciated, it’s too bad that a person of my age & artistic success as a performer, choreographer, teacher & supporter of dancers, who have also become professionals on Broadway, at Radio City, in film & as choreographers, would be treated as such & made to feel less.

    Sincerely

    Charles Goddertz
