About 84 Lumber Company, History and Headquarters Information
84 Lumber was incorporated back in 1956 by Joe Hardy along with his two brothers, Norman and Bob Hardy, and family friends Ed Ryan and Jack Kunkle. All of them bought land and buildings and started the concept of “cash and carry” lumberyard. Customers used to pay by cash or check. In the case of delivering the items, an additional charge was implemented. By 1987, they introduced credit options. Their first 84 Plus” retail store opened in 1999 and had about 12,000 products to offer to its professional and retail shoppers. 84 Lumber secured the top position in Pro Sales magazine’s “Dealer 100” list in 1991. 84 Lumber is based in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania. They also added a new line of portable homes called Tiny Living by 84 Lumber to their portfolio.
84 Lumber is a supplier of lumber and building materials to residential and commercial contractors, home builders, and remodelers. Currently, it has around 5000 employees who operate over 250 stores spread over 30 states. It provides numerous services like component manufacturing facilities, custom door manufacturing, engineered wood products, custom millwork products, and installed services for professional residential and commercial contractors.
Just saw on GMA your generous donation to Mayville KY. Thank you and may God bless your generosity.
I just heard about the charitable generosity of 84 Lumber to 4 “four” ladies who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
I was not aware that the company President is a woman. Impressive and inspiring.
I am a recently disabled female and do totally appreciate hearing of people/companies who are actively striving to BE a difference. Unfortunately, from personal experience, many are not.
Peace and Continued Blessings!
